Abstract
The intermittent nature of cloud cover and cloud movement introduces short-term solar power fluctuations, which appear as frequency deviation at the grid. However, the uncertainty of solar power output decreases when integrated on a large scale, this phenomenon is known as smoothing. The association of smoothing potential with the velocity and movement of clouds along with the height and position of sun inspires to examine the topographic and orientational dependence of solar power fluctuations throughout the year. Therefore, this research promotes the idea of impact evaluation of optimum directions, tilt angles and azimuth angles of PV (photovoltaic) panels w.r.t PV plant’s location, enhancing solar power smoothing for each month of the year.
