Considering technology as a combination of multi-actor practices, processes and symbols through which various social and technological aspects are connected, the adoption of social media technologies has fundamentally changed the ways how people interact and communicate. In order to create more value through the digitally enabled human-nonhuman interactions, organisations need to systematically relate and combine their activities and resources with one another, thus making the growingly service-provisioning networks and of the entire service ecosystems more efficient.

With value cocreation as one the fastest growing innovation phenomenon of our time, more in-depth knowledge and understanding is needed about the value cocreation practices in the emerging, highly self-adjusting and interconnected service ecosystems. Based on the recent theoretical development of S-D Logic, an updated view on how the current socio-technological changes will transform value cocreation in the emerging service ecosystems will be provided.
