Abstract

The main aim of this paper is to discuss different linear estimation techniques used in wireless communications, particularly in array processing and to propose a method based on Singular Value Decomposition. There are numerous beamforming techniques for narrowband and wideband applications that we briefly discuss. Simulations are performed in MATLAB environment, and different linear estimation techniques are compared. This paper focuses on Singular Value Decomposition therefore results of relevant traditional and proposed methods are discussed. Simulation results show that the modified approach of Singular Value Decomposition provides better results compared with conventional approach. The impact of threshold is also analyzed in this paper.
