Abstract

Within a few years mobile virtual reality and augmented reality might have a huge impact on people’s lives. These technologies are very dependent on computer graphics and so the field will seemajorchangesduringthenextdecade.Currentlyrenderingfortheseapplicationsisdonewith conventional rasterization algorithms. However, ray tracing is an interesting option for mobile platforms due to their System on a Chip hardware designs. On the other hand, virtual reality could use scenes and screen set ups that allow new interesting ray tracing optimizations. This poster combines two worlds of mobile ray tracing and virtual reality. The objective is to increase image quality and save power. With the techniques that virtual reality enables, leaps in image quality could be achieved
