Organizations are applying digitalization to the constantly increasing amounts of different organizational processes . The healthcare sector is also changing and actively seeking better ways to enhance performance, especially in the private healthcare sector . Automation of workflow processes, e.g., Robotic Process Automation (RPA), in organizations has been emerging as a solution to this demand [3, 4]. To meet this clear demand, automation of workflow processes in organizations has been a rising trend during the past few years . We analyze the value creating functions of the RPA potential in the private healthcare industry sector, using modified Walter et al.’s function-oriented value analysis as our theoretical lens for identifying the potential of RPA.
